Wooden Blinds Bury St Edmunds

FAQs.

Can you fit my blinds for me?

1 Stop Blinds offers a blind fitting, measuring and estimating service in and around Bury St Edmunds.

We will, should you wish, bring wooden blinds sample swatches for you to browse and measure your windows and give you prices in your own home.

Are there different types of wooden blinds?

Yes, we offer three types:

  • Standard – made of bass wood which are available in stained wood, painted colours or plain white wooden blinds. Ladder strings, or alternatively cloth lift tapes are available to give the classic wooden blind effect.
  • Faux Wood – made from PVC and are waterproof. This allows Faux wood blinds slats to be made with realistic wood grain effects in a range of colours.
  • Privacy – also made of bass wood but without holes cut through the slats for cords to pass through. This allows the slats to close tighter reducing the light entering the room.

Wooden blinds can be fitted in any room but some are more suitable in certain situations than others. For example:

  • Standard blinds can be fitted in all rooms but will be difficult to clean and be unsuitable for moist conditions.
  • Faux wood blinds are wipeable and easy to clean making them ideal for kitchens, bathrooms or wet rooms. PVC faux wood blinds are also flame retardant.
  • For Privacy – wooden blinds don’t have slots for lift cords which allows the slats to close tighter excluding more light from a bedroom or games room.

Can I have them in my conservatory?

No, wooden and faux wood blinds will warp or split in the very hot temperatures found in conservatories. 1 Stop Blinds will not install any type of wood or faux wood blind in conservatories or south facing rooms which are likely to become hot.

Is it possible to fit them in bay windows?

Yes, wooden blinds can be fitted in bay windows and are suitable for either angled or square bay windows. This makes them a practical and cost effective alternative to wooden window shutters.

Are your blinds child safe?

All blinds supplied and installed by 1 Stop Blinds comply with UK child safety laws.

Wooden and Faux Wood blinds are tilted and lifted by cords which must be attached to your walls using cleats and cord tidies.
